muslin 1950's peplum top wip

I am loving the way this top fits so far. it's far more fitted than most clothes i own but I think if I lengthen the sleeves to a 3/4 length and make it a dark neutral( navy) I can wear it most of the year here.(lets face it, it never gets THAT hot here at all. I have got this cotton knit, it's really really stable and barely stretches (just a tiny amount) and is incredibly wrinkle resistant.

I bought the fabric I want to use from the fabric shop in Brunswick, Melbourne...it was a while ago now...but i remember loving the place and the staff were really friendly and obviously really excited about sewing their own projects to. :-)needless to say I will be back on the next trip over.

i think this top definately needs something wrinkle proof.

It loks like a really lovely design. The fabric Store is one of my favourites too :)

Oh my, the Fabric Store!! I'd like to move in. Do you think they would notice if I slept among the silks under one of the big counters???

I'm planning a trip to melbourne in a few weeks, but I've been told by those who are near and dear to me that I shouldn't buy any more fabric until I have made some significant inroads into my stash. (but surely this doesn't apply to the Fabric Store??)
